MEET KRISTEN

I grew up surrounded by creativity - crayons and a pad of paper were never far from reach. My grandpa was a baker and an artist - both interests I suppose I inherited from him. I make a mean blueberry pie and I love to put a brush/pen/pencil/pastel to paper.

I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2010 with a BA in Journalism with an emphasis in advertising, but art has been a part of my life since I was little. By the time I realized I wanted to make a career out of being creative, I was already halfway to an advertising degree, so I stuck with it and decided to focus on graphic design. I spent a decade working in the nonprofit sector as a graphic designer & creative coordinator before stepping away in 2020 to focus on our family. That little niche of designing for causes I was passionate about was my dream job.

I strive to find the beauty in the everyday, routine parts of life. Children are so incredibly good at this - pointing out how bright the oranges are in the produce section, how pretty a particular shade of lavender crayon is, repeating over and over (and over) again how “boooootiful” the dandelions are on our walk, etc. Becoming a parent has taught me to see these things as well, and I’m so thankful. I hope to help others notice the little things too!

I currently live in Oklahoma City with my husband, three children, and two dogs - chaos we lovingly refer to as our “circus.”
